KAP Film & Television Academy in partnership with Mastercard Foundation presents the KAP E-Learning Program where people between the ages of 18-35 can learn the desired skills they need to start their career in the filmmaking industry.
For the next 3 years, 300,000 students will enjoy this initiative of which 120,000 students who are low-income earners will be beneficiaries of a fully-funded scholarship from Level 1 through Level 2. Asides from getting the scholarship, they’ll be supported with a free tab and data to make the learning process seamless for them.
Women are especially encouraged to apply.
For the paying students, the fees are affordable as they will be paying #25,000 for Level 1 and #125,000 at Level 2. The program will run for 8 weeks for both levels and will be strictly online for Level 1 while at Level 2, the students will take classes online for the first 4 weeks while the other 4 weeks will be spent interning at media houses.
This program is targeted at people who desire to become professionals in the areas of specialization in filmmaking but have limited access to resources.
In Mastercard Foundation’s Young Africa Works words, “The Mastercard Foundation works with visionary organizations to enable young people in Africa and in Indigenous communities in Canada to access dignified and fulfilling work.
We want a world where young people are included and are thriving and their leadership and contributions matter. A future where young people are driving transformative change and achieving their full potential.
We bring together the private sector, donors, young people, and civil society – to create effective systems and infrastructures, supportive policies, and an environment where young people can find work and entrepreneurs and small enterprises can succeed and grow.
A world where everyone has the opportunity to learn and prosper.”
It is safe to say that dreams are being empowered to come true.
On the 5th of July, 2022, the first batch of students was virtually inducted into the E-Learning Program where over 600 students joined in on the welcome ceremony.
This moving train is a blazing one. Wouldn’t you rather hop on it?
